STEMapalooza Green Team

Girl Scouts of West Central Florida's STEMapalooza 2025 will be on Saturday April 12th at Florida Polytechnic University. This event is an opportunity for girls and families in our community to learn through hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) activities.

We are seeking volunteers to help us have a great event! Multiple roles and shifts are available.

When you sign up for a shift, please let us know in the notes which role(s) you are interested in, and what your t-shirt size is (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL)

Volunteer Roles:

  • Friday Event Set Up: Table set-up, classroom arrangement, signage, vendor assistance, retail set up.
    • Friday, afternoon, time TBD.
  • Saturday Event Set-up: Assist with table set-up, classroom arrangement, signage, vendor assistance, retail set up, other assistence as needed.
    • Saturday, 7:30am - 12:00pm
  • Door Greeters: Holding doors for participants as they enter and exit, directing to activities and talks. Help with event set-up or tear-down.
    • Saturday, 9:00am - 12:30pm
    • Saturday, 12:00pm - 3:00pm
  • Room Captains: Managing foot traffic at doors & activities. Queuing the line into the program partner rooms. May help with guiding girls through STEM activities as needed.
    • Saturday, 8:30am - 12:30pm
    • Saturday, 12:00pm - 3:00pm
  • Floating Assistance: Assigned as needed with program partners, line management, or setup as determined by program team.
    • Saturday, 8:30am - 12:30pm
    • Saturday, 12:00pm - 3:00pm
  • Event Tear Down - Resetting Venue
    • Saturday, 12:00pm - 3:00pm
  • First Aid - Ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees by providing basic first aid support. This vital role involves assisting with minor injuries, offering comfort, and ensuring prompt attention to health and safety needs.
    • Saturday, 8:30am - 12:30pm
    • Saturday, 12:00pm - 3pm
  • Proof of First Aid Certification REQUIRED for this role.

Volunteers help council staff facilitate the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls through exciting program opportunities: leadership/self-esteem, financial literacy, travel, health/wellness, science, technology, engineering, and math.
