Weed Wrangle at Mosquito Creek

Help land steward Ryan Goetz and The Nature Conservancy with removing invasive shrubs from Mosquito Creek Glade in Harrison County! Invasive species pose a significant threat to this ecosystem and many other natural areas in Indiana. Out-competing native species, invasives reduce biodiversity and cause habitat lose for Indiana’s native insects, birds, and other animals. Come be a part of the solution at this family-friendly Weed Wrangle. Volunteers of all ages are welcome as this is a great service activity for Scouts and kids wanting to give back to their local natural areas! What to expect: Terrain is moderate, and we will be working off trail. There are hills and there may be loose gravel and/or mud present. The Weed Wrangles will include bending, lifting, and using hand tools to cut and clear invasives. What to bring and wear: All supplies and instructions are provided, as is bottled water and granola bars.
