Join TNC and its partners for a community science day spent out monitoring water quality! Volunteers will help out by collecting water samples, taking photos, and recording observations in White River tributaries. Bring a buddy or two as you'll be sent out to collect data after getting trained, and be sure to bring a friend with a car as all sites are within 30 minutes of the meet up point.
No experience is needed! After samples are collected, we'll teach you how to run basic water quality tests and learn how these tests help TNC continue caring for the White River, its watershed, and the drinking water it provides to over 1 million Hoosiers. Data from this annual event is used by TNC to compare year over year changes in key measures that indicate healthy waterways.
We will a demo at 9am and again at 10am. Please select the start time and demo time you'll attend. Volunteers will need to have transportation and will be working in pairs to collect samples for at least one hour out in the field. We kindly ask that volunteers by 18+ for this event.
