A Night to Inspire: Boston is an annual event hosted by the Kelly Brush Foundation to allow us to gather with our Boston-based community, celebrate our mission to inspire and empower people with spinal cord injuries to lead active, engaged lives through improved access to adaptive sports and recreation, and raise funds to support our programs.

The event features interactive adaptive sports demos, a silent auction, a live presentation, and opportunities for all members of our community to connect with one another. We bring together about 300 people, including our grantees and program participants, donors, sponsors, supporters, and partners.

Mission Statement

Our Mission: To inspire and empower people with spinal cord injuries to lead active and engaged lives. The Kelly Brush Foundation (KBF) is dedicated to making active lifestyles a reality for those who have experienced a spinal cord injury. We offer the inspiration to believe and the grants to enable anyone to buy the equipment they need to get out and go. When you’re out there on the hill, road, court, water or trail, as your heart rate rises and you feel the wind on your face, disability fades away. An active lifestyle forges connections with others -- both new friends and old, in and out of a chair. The KBF was founded by Kelly and her family after Kelly was injured in 2006 at an NCAA alpine ski race. Since our founding, we’ve been committed to ski racing safety and will continue to advocate and provide resources so that every ski racer is training and competing on the safest possible venues.

Description

Our programs include: The Active Fund, which provides grants to individuals to allow them to purchase life-changing adaptive sports and recreation equipment; Path2Active Scholarships and TryitFirst Grants to allow individual to try equipment or attend programming through another adaptive sprots organization; KBF Camps to provide camaraderie and instruction to folks in the SCI community; The Active Project, an online resource to help connect people in the Adaptive Community with one another and resources available around the country; and Ski Racing Safety programs including Equipment Grants, trainings, and distribution of Stop the Bleed Kits.
