Spring Garden Fair
A Master Gardener Educational Fair and Plant Sale
Be a part of the fun by encouraging sustainability and healthy lifestyles through gardening. Thousands of tomato, pepper, herb, ornamental, California native and succulent plants will be on sale at this community event. There will be educational talks, children's activities, hands-on demonstrations, informational booths, and tours of our Martial Cottle Park Demonstration Garden.
Ideal for high school and college groups, service clubs, or individuals. Hours will count as volunteer service hours for students and you will receive documentation when you complete your shift.
The things you'll be doing:
- Maintain a "Plant Check" area, much like a coat check for the plants our customers have purchased
- Help patrons load their cars with plants / other items purchased
- Guide attendees to talks and help organize materials for presenters
- Assist in the sales line or other areas as needed as the event progresses
Please note: You will have the opportunity to help in different areas, and in fact your willingness to do so is greatly appreciated. This will be a busy event and needs will shift throughout the day!
Preregistration is required. Your volunteer waiver and photo release MUST be signed and brought with you. Younger than 18 must be signed by a parent or legal guardian.
Arriving - We recommend getting dropped off or parking on Chynoweth Ave near Vauxhall Circle. A walk-in entry is close to the Master Gardener Spring Garden Fair. Report to the Volunteer Central tent at the Fair entrance.
Bring a water bottle and dress to be outdoors! Sturdy closed-toed shoes, hat and sunscreen are recommended. When you arrive, check in with Rinat Nevo Dubiner. Contat her at (408) 242-9514 if necessary.
