Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and creative Social Media & Content Coordinator (Volunteer) to help manage and grow our online presence. This volunteer will play a key role in spreading awareness about government tax transparency and government financial literacy through engaging digital content. If you have a knack for social media, storytelling, and community engagement, we’d love to have you on board!

Responsibilities:
  • Social Media Strategy & Management

    • Develop and implement a content calendar for social media platforms (X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
    • Manage and schedule posts using social media management tools.
    • Engage with followers by responding to comments, messages, and mentions.
    • Track and analyze social media performance to improve engagement.
  • Content Creation & Storytelling

    • Create compelling posts, infographics, and short-form content to promote government financial literacy.
    • Create and curate visual content (images, videos, infographics)
    • Develop blog or newsletter content to support awareness campaigns.
  • Campaigns & Outreach

    • Assist in developing and executing social media campaigns around key policy discussions, tax transparency initiatives, and nonprofit events.
    • Collaborate with team members to amplify research, reports, and fundraising efforts.
    • Identify and engage with influencers, journalists, and organizations in the government transparency space.
  • Brand & Messaging Consistency

    • Ensure messaging aligns with the organization’s mission and brand voice.
    • Maintain consistency across platforms while tailoring content to each audience.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Passionate about paying it forward, government transparency, and financial literacy.
  • Experience managing social media accounts, content creation, or digital marketing.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools are a plus.
  • Basic graphic design or video editing skills are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
Time Commitment:
  • Flexible, but ideally 5-10 hours per week depending on campaign needs.
