MDA Summer Camp is a magical week-long experience designed specifically for kids aged 8-17 with neuromuscular disease. At camp, campers enjoy adaptive activities like swimming, zip-lining, horseback riding, and dancing under the stars-all at no cost to their families thanks to our generous supporters. They also get the chance to foster lifelong friendships with other kids who understand what it’s like to live with a neuromuscular disease.

We’d love for you to apply to join us as part of the MDA Summer Camp Medical Team! As a Medical Team volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and unforgettable environment for these campers.

You’ll help ensure the health and well-being of campers and volunteers by:

  • Administering medications.
  • Delivering first aid and providing emotional support.
  • Reviewing camper health forms and maintaining treatment documentation.
  • Monitoring equipment and supplies to ensure campers can participate safely.
  • Assisting with emergency decision-making as part of the camp leadership team.

Medical Teams may consist of individuals with the following active licenses:

  • Physicians (MD, DO)

Medical Team Requirements:

  • Hold an active license in the state where the Summer Camp is held.
  • Be able to follow MDA established rules and policies.

For consistency of care, it is preferred that volunteers remain on-site for the entire Summer Camp week. However, shorter shifts may be available based on the needs of each camp.
