Campground Host 2025

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Campground Hosts are hired through the Volunteers-In-Parks (VIP) program and are a valuable asset to the park’s campground operation. Here is a list of the major duties:

· Maintain own campsite in accordance with all park regulations and set a good example for other campers.

· A minimum of one month is required. A week consist of a minimum of 20 hours with 2 days off.

· Greet and help campers as they enter your campsite, keep accurate records, interpret campground regulations and directions, and assist the camper as best as possible.

· Perform minor maintenance/pick up in the campground. Maintain a neat, tidy, and organized work area. Host do not clean bathrooms but may restock toilet paper.

· Periodically monitors campground occupancy status and reports site availability to Visitor Centers at designated times or when appropriate. Utilizes Park radios.

· Informs appropriate staff of maintenance and law enforcement needs and problems. Utilizes Park radios.

· Occasionally assisting visitors after hours.

* Campgrounds are rustic with no hook-ups. There is a central water spigot and pit toilets.
