Do you have an interest in botany and some knowledge of plants? Are you eager to learn more? Help us out by adding plant information for our Flora of PA project. We provide resources and guidance to support you.
Position Overview:
We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers with an interest in botany to assist with entering plant information data into our online platform. This role involves researching, compiling, and inputting accurate data related to various plant species, including their life cycle photographs, plant characteristics, and ecological information.
Responsibilities:
- Research and gather information on Pennsylvania's plant species.
- Enter and update plant data in our content management system.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all data entries.
- Collaborate with our team to verify and cross-reference information.
- Participate in virtual meetings and training sessions as needed.
Requirements:
- Interest in botany/plants and a basic knowledge of plants.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with data entry.
- Ability to work independently.

Description
Our journey began with a deep love for nature and a few years spent in the picturesque countryside of Pennsylvania. This passion for plants blossomed into a mission to create a platform that combines the aesthetic beauty of flora with rich botanical educational resources.
With my expertise in software engineering, I decided to unite my technical knowledge with my appreciation of nature's beauty. This led to the creation of our website and the establishment of PAEnflowered, Inc. 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
One of our primary goals is to document the complete flora of Pennsylvania on our website. This includes providing detailed plant life cycle photographs, plant identification, and ecological information. We are currently about one-third of the way toward our goal and rely partially on citizen science to help us complete the collection. By engaging the community, we aim to create a comprehensive resource that highlights the botanical treasures of Pennsylvania.
