Volunteers needed to spend time with patients living in memory care facilities. The goal of a volunteer is to provide companionship and socialization to patients while giving the caregivers the comfort of knowing that someone is spending time with their loved one when they can't. A volunteer visit may consist of listening, talking, reading, playing an instrument, watching tv, playing games, coloring, puzzles, singing, looking at books, fidget blankets, sitting outside, or simply sitting with the patient.

Description
Training is provided as part of our volunteer experience. You can make a positive difference by listening and supporting the patient and family, reading or sitting with patient for short periods of time, writing letters, checking on patients and families by telephone, sharing your music with a patient and their family, becoming a Veteran-to-Veteran volunteer, caring for the pets of the patient (walk and play with dogs, etc.), assisting with clerical office tasks and supporting community events, and more.
Hospice volunteers are exceptional people. They donate their time and efforts to provide care and comfort for someone with a life-limiting illness - a labor of love that requires a special person with just the right touch.
