The Story County CROP Hunger Walk raises money for hunger relief- at home and around the world. We gather to remember how not everyone has access to clean water and healthy foods. We walk, because they have to walk.
The non-competitive walk is held at Ada Hayden. Everyone- all ages and abilities- is invited to walk and remember people less fortunate.
In 2024, we raised $35,000 for organizations- around the world and eight in Story County.
Walkers are encouraged to raise funds or make a donation, but it's not required to be part of the Walk. It's a great community event, where people who care about hunger get together. The event is affilicated with Church World Service and many faith congregations (both Christian and Jewish) participate as groups, but individual walkers are welcome! None of the agencies that we support have religious requirements to receive assistance.
