The Strategic Development and Fundraising Board Member plays a pivotal role in guiding The Garden Corp's strategic direction and enhancing its financial sustainability. This individual will leverage their nonprofit experience, business knowledge, and expertise in grant writing and fundraising to support the organization's mission of nurturing brighter futures for children, youth, and families. Must be located in Los Angeles, CA or surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the board and executive team to develop and implement strategic initiatives that align with The Garden Corp's mission and goals.
- Fundraising Leadership: Lead efforts to identify, cultivate, and secure funding opportunities, including grants, donations, and sponsorships.
- Grant Writing: Oversee the grant writing process, ensuring the submission of compelling proposals that align with funders' priorities.
- Financial Oversight: Provide guidance on financial planning and budgeting to ensure the organization's sustainability and growth.
- Networking and Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, community partners, and other nonprofits.
- Governance: Participate in board meetings and committees, contributing to effective governance and decision-making.

Description
The Garden also provides emergency and short-term care for children and youth experiencing a crisis. The short-term care and emergency services offer a safe home-like environment for children and youth to feel secure and to gain a sense of stability , adoption placement and support, counseling and mental health treatment, education support and services, independent living skills, mentoring, and family crisis intervention .
