The Armenians of Whitinsville Project (www.armeniansofwhitinsville.org) is conducting a series of approximately hour long interviews of Armenians with ties to the town of Whitinsville, MA. The interviews speak to what it was like to grow up in town, what the community was like and how Armenian identity has changed over the last 100 years or so. A volunteer would listen to the tape on Vimeo and follow the otter edit and correct the transcription for content, time stamps and the person speaking. At this point we have one oral history to be done, but may have another. Please let me know if you have the technology (Adobe Premiere) to also do subtitling work. This is not required, but more curioius than anything.
The person doing the transcribing would be working with organizers of the project, and get a sense for what goes into building out an archival community website.

Mission Statement
The Armenians of Whitinsville is an archival project being sponsored by the Armenian Cultural Association of America. Our mission is to both celebrate a special community in Massachusetts and look at the Armenian diaspora some 100 years after the Genocide.
Description
The group behind the Armenians of Whitinsville is a group of volunteers who are building out a platform for families to tell their story and contribute everything from photographs to recipes to audio and video oral histories, anything they might feel captures the character of their family. Our job is to help them gather this information, categorize it and upload it onto our site.
