Grapevine Lake Park Maintenance

As a maintenance volunteer you assist Grapevine Project staff with critical tasks to maintain the park for visitors and conserve wildlife habitat. Tasks may include:
- General property maintenance to include custodial upkeep of buildings, restrooms, and grounds.
- Trail and grounds maintenance: trimming trees and bushes, mowing grass, planting native vegetation
- Construction/maintenance of various fences.
- Repair/replacement/installation of directional, informational and interpretive signs.
- May also be involved in field projects such small construction or rehabilitation projects.
- If qualified, perform preventative maintenance checks on equipment, parts and wiring inspection and replacement, and complete routine maintenance on mowers and other small gas engines.
- Tasks involve computer work including regular email communication, and documentation of work completed.
- Special projects, as assigned, including but not limited to helping lead volunteer groups, re ‐ vegetation projects, maintain/clean irrigation ditches and building up road base.
- May perform a variety of other duties, including assisting with wildlife habitat management and/or special events.
LOCATION AND LOGISTICS:
The project is located in a suburban area on the shore of Grapevine Lake, in Flower Mound, TX. Enjoy amazing scenery and outstanding local recreational opportunities including hiking, biking, boating, wildlife observation, and much more.
The weekly schedule for volunteers is typically 4 days on-duty/3 days off-duty. The daily schedule may vary. Upon request, couples can largely work the same days but may not have the same daily schedule. Exceptions may be necessary occasionally.
RV or motor home utility hook-ups for electric, water, and sewage available. No propane.
The commitment requires at least 25 hours/week per resident or 32 hours/ week of volunteering for couples.

Reliable personal transportation and a valid driver’s license are required as some work will require traveling to the Project Office.
All RV/Trailer/Camper Van/Sprinter Van must be self-suffi cient. We do not provide showers or toilets.
