Living History Soldiers present soldier life talks and musket or artillery firing demonstrations on a regular basis to groups of adults and children. Programs are generally offered three times daily. Training and tour outlines are provided by the park. National Park Service Rangers are available to help with training, program development and presentation. It is beneficial if applicants possess a general knowledge of the history of colonial America as well as the French and Indian War. Experience with public speaking is also beneficial. Knowledge of soldier life in the 18th century British & French armies is a plus. There may also by opportunities to present guided programs and tours to Fort Necessity. Attendance at the park historic weapons program training session is required. Training is usually held the first week in June. A minimum eight-week or 250-hour commitment is preferred. The park provides all necessary historically accurate uniforms, equipment and weapons.
