About HENDERSON CATS

Location:

P.O Box 530933, HENDERSON, NV 89053, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to trap, neuter/spay, vaccinate, and return the community cats of Henderson, Nevada, to help reduce the community cat population, reduce shelter intakes, and improve the quality of life for Henderson’s community cats.

Description

Henderson Cats is Henderson's first ever Trap-Neuter-Return(TNR) nonprofit. Our goal is to TNR 1,300 cats in 2025 to help reduce the homeless cat population, reduce shelter intakes, and reduce shelter euthanasias.

A TNVR program allows community cats to live while stopping the breeding process to improve the cat population over time. TNVR is a proven method of reducing the cat population by actively trapping community cats for spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, and an ear tip (where the top portion of the ear is clipped while under anesthesia) to indicate their TNVR status. Socialized "tame" cats will be transferred to a shelter or rescue for adoption. Feral cats are returned to the original trap location. TNVR is best implemented through a colony-by-colony approach.

We need volunteers to reach our goal!
