Are you a people person who loves to help others? Join our volunteer team as a Weekend Nature Center Greeter at Rock Springs Nature Center! Greeters play a key role in creating a welcoming environment by interacting with visitors, answering basic questions, assisting staff with light tasks, and handling phone inquiries.

Saturdays: 9 AM - 1 PM or 1 - 4 PM
Sundays: 1 - 5 PM This opportunity is open to individuals 18 and older, and we welcome volunteers of all abilities! Our Mission is to promote the conservation of natural and cultural resources by acquiring, maintaining, and restoring areas of natural and cultural significance within Macon County, and to protect and preserve those spaces for the education, recreation, and enjoyment of all its citizens in perpetuity.
Description
Every year, hundreds of volunteers make an invaluable contribution to the operation of our conservation areas and historic sites. Whether greeting visitors, helping restore natural areas, assisting with programs, interrupting history, or monitoring our trails, our volunteers help the Conservation District serve the residents of Macon County.

There are more than 3,700 acres of natural areas and hundreds of school programs, special events, and workshop presentations at the Macon County Conservation District in Decatur, Illinois. Indoor and outdoor volunteer opportunities are available year-round in our many Conservation areas.
