Prep: 11am-2pm Work with our kitchen manager and other volunteers to sort through and properly store the donations for the day, complete basic food prep such as making salads, washing and chopping vegetables, and assist with preparing lunch for the volunteer team. Volunteers also clean the facility by sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing common areas. Other tasks come up throughout the day that we could use support with! Serving: 3:00pm-5:30pm 3-4 volunteers will work on the serving line, providing guests with trays & flatware, fruit, dessert, salad, drinks, and the main course between 4pm and 5pm. Other volunteers may be assigned to the dish room, which has a system in place for dishwashing that is in compliance with all relevant food safety regulations. Finally, 1-2 volunteers will be assigned to the giveaway room, from which our guests can take snacks, drinks, bread, treats, and anything else that we had extra of. These volunteers are charged with ensuring guests are taking what’s fair, leaving enough for all who will be coming through. Time Commitment: 5 hours per week. Time commitment is based on what the volunteer is available for.
