The Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club (FSURC) seeks a passionate and creative volunteer Social Media Content Creator to help us share our story and mission with the world! We provide a safe and enriching environment for urban youth to connect with horses, learn valuable life skills, and experience the rich history of Black cowboys. This is a fantastic opportunity for a marketing, communications, or journalism student (or anyone with a passion for social media and our mission!) to gain real-world experience and build their portfolio.
About FSURC:
The Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of Black cowboys and empowering urban youth through horsemanship. We offer a variety of programs, including riding lessons, club events, and educational workshops. We are committed to fostering a strong sense of community and promoting positive youth development.
Responsibilities:
Develop engaging and informative social media content (text, images, and videos) for various platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok).
Create content that highlights our programs, events, partnerships, and the rich history of Black cowboys.
Showcase the impact of FSURC on our community and the youth we serve.
Promote local community events and uplift other local organizations.
Collaborate with the FSURC team to develop a consistent brand voice and visual identity.
Schedule and publish social media posts.
Monitor social media channels and engage with followers.
Track social media analytics and provide reports on performance.
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of social media platforms and best practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Creativity and a passion for storytelling.
Interest in our mission to serve the community and preserve the history of Black cowboys.
Experience with graphic design or video editing is a plus.
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in marketing, communications,2 journalism, or a related field is preferred, but not required.

Officially founded as a non-profit in 2004 by Ellis "El-Dog" Ferrell, Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club is a community-based organization in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood, dedicated to providing horsemanship education, mentorship, and community engagement opportunities for youth in Philadelphia. The club has been a pillar of the community in North Philadelphia for over 50 years, offering a unique and positive outlet for young people to learn valuable life skills through their love of horses.
