Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer K9 Decoy.
Volunteer decoys provide support by aiding in reality-based training and scenarios at Newark Liberty International Airport. Your role as a decoy volunteer will be to carry a concealed training aid and participate in real life airport activities in areas where a Passenger Screening Canine Team is conducting search activity.
Decoys must be at least 18 years old with a government issued ID. However, we welcome participants under 18 to join a qualified decoy. This is a great opportunity for those under 18 to earn volunteer hours for school projects. If you are interested in this unique volunteer opportunity, please click the "I Want to Help" button above and include the days of the week you are available in the comments section. Volunteer opportunities are scheduled one day at a time, with the opportunity to schedule through-out the year. This is an on-going year-round volunteer opportunity, as we schedule decoys every week.

Mission Statement
Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) Canine Program is currently seeking volunteers who can act as decoys to work with our teams and assist with canine training. The handlers search travelers and their belongings as they enter the security checkpoint and throughout the airport. Decoys will carry training aids to test Passenger Screening Canines and their handlers as they work to improve the canines ability to detect odors.
Description
Requirements: Must be 18 years old and complete a Consent Briefing and sign a SSI Non Disclosure Acknowledgement Form. Please advise of any possible allergens to Dogs, Cotton, Wool, Latex or Adhesive Strips. Please reach out to our contact Donna Nicholas to set up a K9 decoy session!
