Help Good Shepherd Hospice Support Veterans: Vet to Vet Volunteering
ORGANIZATION: Good Shepherd Hospice Independence
Please visit the new page to apply.

Good Shepherd is seeking Veterans to volunteer and make a meaningful difference for fellow veterans in hospice care. Your unique connection, shared experiences, and support will provide comfort to patients and their families during difficult times.
Just 1-2 hours a week can bring joy and companionship to a veteran in need. We provide training and resources to ensure you’re fully supported, and we will do our best to assign a patient that is closest to your preferred location.
Volunteers must be 18 or older and pass a background check.

Description
COMPASSIONATE ABOUT CARE. passionate about life.
At Good Shepherd Hospice, we believe that health care is more than just a diagnosis and a treatment. It's a daily exercise in making this moment...this today...the very best it can be. We're here to help our patients achieve that goal - physically, mentally, spiritually...and for whatever that means individually.
We believe that in the passing of a person’s life, there are also extraordinary opportunities for compassion, reconciliation, spiritual healing, and renewal.
Our Volunteers play a vital role in our Hospice program. From working in the office, to creating special projects at home, to visiting to provide companionship and ease lonliness, Good Shepherd Hospice Volunteers make special moments happen again and again for the patients and families we serve.
