To ensure accurate financial records are maintained reflecting the current financial condition of the organization. Has full knowledge and understanding of the financial aspects of the organization. Maintains custody of checking accounts. Ensures that the organization is financially a good steward of non-profit integrity and provides financial oversight. Maintains current knowledge of non-profit accounting practices, tax laws, record keeping.

Requirements:

• Personal commitment to devote the time necessary to perform the responsibilities of Treasurer.

• Weekly meetings with the board to discuss financial standings and strategies.

• Understanding of financial accounting for nonprofit organizations.

• Proficient and familiar with Quickbooks.

Responsibilities:

• Use Quickbooks to keep accurate accounting of expenses, donations, and invoices.

• Monitor available grants and apply for grants.

• Reconcile and balance the accounting records, and monitor income and expenditures.

• Ensure accurate bookkeeping and records on financial status.

• Assist in developing operational budgets and long-term financial strategies beneficial to the growth of the organization.

• Closely monitor the organization’s operations and ensure that it is operating within budgetary guidelines.

• Prepare a variety of financial reports as requested by the board.

• Manage 1099 contract and payroll workers and ensure that all year-end tax reporting is accurately handled.
