Bring your positive attitude and concern for others to those facing end of life challenges. Brighten their day with regular visits, listen to their stories, read, play games, watch, assist with activities, assist the family. Work directly with patients and families in your own community as a committed listener providing companionship and support, translation, and/or relief for the caregiver. You may volunteer weekdays, evenings, weekends, etc. Usually, volunteers see patients once a week or every other week. The primary need is patient companionship-simply being there to make a positive difference in the life of another.

Mission Statement
To serve and support people with compassion and care during the end of life journey.
Description
Hospice provides support for persons in the last phases of incurable disease so that they may live as fully and as comfortably as possible. Hospice recognizes dying as part of the normal process of living and focuses on maintaining the quality of remaining life. Hospice affirms life and neither hastens nor postpones death. Hospice exists in the hope and belief that though appropriate care, and the promotion of a caring community sensitive to their needs patients and their families may be free to attain a degree of mental and spiritual preparation for death that is satisfactory to them. Hospice, to the maximum extent possible, accepts patients regardless of ability to pay.
