Description

R. M. Pyles Boys Camp is a program designed for boys between 12 and 14 years old to develop their leadership skills and character. Since its establishment in 1949, more than 28,000 boys have participated in our program. We select over 450 boys from Southern California counties each year to attend one of our five first-year sessions. Please note that Pyles Camp is not for juvenile delinquents. Our aim is to assist our youth in developing their skills through a unique wilderness camp experience, winter follow-up, second-year summer camp, leadership development, and college scholarship programs. We focus on building self-confidence, setting goals, developing decision-making abilities, and teaching our participants that success comes only through significant personal effort.

Back in 1992, President George Herbert Walker Bush paid a visit to Pyles Boys Camp and recognized it as one of his Thousand Points of Light. The camp, which serves local communities, is sustained through fundraising events, private industry and foundation donations, and generous individuals. Families of the boys who come to the camp need not worry about any costs.
