A Tour Guide leads visitors on 30 minute tours through the Jason Russell House (built circa 1740) sharing the history of the house and of the Russell family who lived in it for almost a hundred and fifty years. The Jason Russell House figured prominently in events on the first day of the American Revolution on April 19, 1775. Its walls still bear musket ball holes from the fierce fighting on that day between British troops retreating from the Battles of Lexington and Concord and Colonial militiamen. We help guides get ready through a comprehensive training session, printed materials and mentoring by experienced guides. The Jason Russell House is open weekends from late May through October. Guides volunteer approximately once a month from 1-4pm with a choice of dates. Guides are always partnered with another guide. The house is easily accessible by public transportation.
