ORGANIZATION: East Side Learning Center

Time Commitment: Board of Director meetings every other month 2.5 hours . Finance Committee meetings monthly1 hour each Executive Committee meetings 5 times per year 1 hour each

Position Overview:

The Board Treasurer plays a vital role in overseeing the financial health and integrity of East Side Learning Center . The Treasurer works closely with the Executive Director, the finance committee, and other board members to develop and review fiscal procedures, review financial reports and develop and approve the annual budget, with staff, and other board members. The treasurer shall chair the finance committee.

K ey Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Oversight:

  1. Review and monitor financial statements.

  1. Ensure statements are accurate and reflect the organization's financial position.

  1. Budgeting & Financial Planning:

  1. Collaborate with the Executive Director and staff to prepare the annual budget.

  1. Provide guidance and input on financial planning to ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.

  1. Present the budget to the board for approval and review any variances from the approved budget during meetings.

  1. Policy Development and Implementation:

  1. Along with the finance committee, review finance policies and update as necessary.

  1. Board Support and Engagement:

  1. Attend and actively participate in all board meetings and finance committee meetings.

  1. Report on the organization’s financial health and present financial reports at board meetings.

  1. Serve as officer at executive committee meetings.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with board members and staff.

  • Ability to review and interpret financial reports.

Description

East Side Learning Center (ESLC) is a nonprofit organization based out of St. Paul, MN since 2001. We are an educational partnership with the School Sisters of Notre Dame and a proud host of AARP Foundation Experience Corps. ESLC provides reading tutoring services to low income Kindergarten through 3rd grade students who are not yet reading at grade level. Join us as a volunteer for the upcoming school and help us to make a difference in the lives of St. Paul's most vulnerable children!
