Friendly Visiting/Activities with Seniors

Our community of Japanese & Japanese- Canadian seniors need your support! Help us support our seniors in Long Term Care at Castleview Wychwood Towers. We need your support for singing activities, craft classes, friendly visiting and pushing wheelchairs. (Must go through Castleview LTC volunteer registration process)
Help is needed three days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9AM until 2:30PM with lunch and coffee included. Monday and Friday: English OR Japanese speaking volunteers needed. Wednesdays: Bilingual (English/Japanese) would be preferred.
Lunch preparation volunteer help needed twice a month on Fridays. (Food Safety Certificate required)

Ever since Momiji was founded by volunteers in 1978, volunteers have been central to our success. Each year, hundreds of volunteers generously give thousands of hours of their time. You too can make a real difference in seniors’ lives, and give back to the community. Another benefit is that you will learn about Japanese Canadian history and culture and connect with people of diverse ages from all walks of life!
