AccentCare Hospice Friendly Visitors are an integral part of the hospice team. They have the opportunity to make a profound difference in the quality of life for individuals who are facing a terminal illness.
Friendly Visitors or Direct Patient Care Volunteers enrich the lives of patients by providing emotional support and companionship for the patient and their families within their home residence.
Volunteers can help in various ways through compassionate listening, reading, listening to music, making crafts, helping patients make a legacy project, watching movies, and more. Volunteers also help bring comfort to the family by being an understanding presence.
Friendly Visitors or Direct Patient Care Volunteers have direct patient contact will need to complete AccentCare volunteer training, have valid identification, successfully pass a background check, COVID vaccination, and complete a TB Test/health assessment. Background checks and TB Tests/health assessments are paid for by Accentcare. Volunteers need to be 18 years or older.

Description
We provide care to our patients wherever they call home, whether that is a private residence, nursing home, Assisted Living Facility, or other location. We understand that each patient and family’s journey and needs are different. As a Medicare-certified hospice, AccentCare is proud to offer all four levels of hospice care: Routine, Inpatient, Respite, and Continuous Care. We work with our patients and medical team to determine the level of care appropriate for each patient.
