Our Vision: Abundant, productive, sustainable local farmland providing healthy food for our community & contributing to a vibrant, viable farm economy.

Our Work:

  • Permanently protect farmland & provide affordable land security for farmers.
  • Assure that farmland remains farmed & continues to support a viable agricultural economy that provides for local food security.
  • Build a community that appreciates & supports locally produced food & where farms can provide a good economic return to those who work the land.

Our structure: CFLT is part of the enduring tradition of Community Land Trusts (CLTs). CLTs are unique among land trusts because membership is fundamental to the model. Members play crucial roles in governance, helping shape decisions that reflect community needs & values through democratic processes. Members foster local accountability, support long-term stewardship, & promote equitable access to land & resources.
