✨Best of Spring 2025✨
Throughout the month of March, Housing Works thrift shops will be holding their annual Best of Spring events. All Housing Works shops will be having a sale on their winter merchandise to clear space for their Spring inventory!
Our Best of Spring events attract many customers to our shops and our staff express their sincerest gratitude to our volunteers after every year's successful Best of Spring.
Volunteering:
We need your help the day before and day of each store’s event to assist with setting up the "Best Of" merchandise. Clearance prices will be in effect leading up to each event. And remember, each shop is closed the day prior to its 'Best of'.
On the day of the event, we need your help providing excellent customer service throughout the store including fitting room upkeep, and assistance on the sales floor during member and public sale hours. Each shop closes the day prior to its 'Best of'.
Volunteers must be 18+. Participating volunteers will be given a 25% off Best of Spring Discount Coupon. The more shifts/stores one helps, the more discount coupons will be provided.
If you can commit to a full 4-hour shift but can't come in for the specified time, don't fret! Let us know about what time frame works best for you, and we will coordinate something with you: volunteer@housingworks.org.
And if you’re looking for a way to get involved, but can’t make it to Best of Spring, we’d love your help at our largest fundraising event, Design on a Dime, coming up in April!

Housing Works is powered by a vibrant community of volunteers who lend their time, dedication, and passion to many different roles within our social enterprise department, Bookstore Cafe, and Thrift Shops.
Individuals and groups of volunteers assist our organization greatly, by coming together to better the communities that they live and work in. Housing Works is pleased to partner with corporations, universities, and community based groups, in the creation and implementation of volunteer projects that benefit homeless men and women living with HIV & AIDS. We are one of New York City’s largest and most successful support services for those in these under served communities, and becoming a part of the Housing Work’s family is an exciting way for companies to give back.
Each project challenges volunteers to develop new skills and engage new people, contributing to a greater sense of camaraderie. We welcome the opportunity to work with corporations to find volunteer opportunities that meet their needs and priorities. Volunteering with Housing Works is a great way for companies to engage employees while demonstrating their commitment to the fight against homelessness and AIDS, and the improvement of the lives of all at-risk New Yorkers.

REQUIREMENTS
- This is a Done in a Day opportunity and there is no prior training or ongoing commitment needed.
- Must be at least 18
- 3/4 hour shift
- Volunteers must be 18+ and comfortable volunteering in a retail customer facing environment to support our staff. Should be comfortable standing for long periods of time, moving and lifting. Must complete our Waiver before volunteering. Thank you!
