Roles and Responsibilities in Rejoice Africa Foundation
Chairperson board of directors.
1. Leadership - provides overall leadership to the board, ensuring its effectiveness in
governing the Rejoice Africa Foundation.
2. Strategic oversight - oversees the development and execution of Rejoice Africa
Foundation vision and strategy.
3. Board meetings - Chairs and facilitates board meetings ensuring productive discussion
and decision making.
4. Representation - act as primary representative of the board, engaging with stakeholders,
partners and donors.
5. Compliance; ensures Rejoice Africa Foundation complies with legal and ethical
standards, aligning activities with the mission.
6. Mentorship- Guides and support board members and executive staff in the board
members and executive team in roles.
7. Fundraising - support fundraising efforts through personal contributions, networking and
advocacy.
Secretary board of directors.
1. Documentation and record-keeping - Maintain accurate records of board meetings, including agendas, minutes and
resolutions. - ensure that official documents and records are safely stored and easily accessible.
2. Meeting coordination - -
Prepare and distribute meeting notices, agendas and related materials in a timely
manner.
Ensure compliance with legal or organizational requirements for board meetings.
3. Communication support -
Serve as a key point of contact for communication between the board, executive
team and external stakeholders.
4. Fundraising support efforts through personal contributions, networking, projects proposal
writing.
Treasurer Board of directors
1. Financial oversight -
Monitor and manage the financial health of the organization. -
Ensure Rejoice Africa Foundation resources are efficient and align with mission.
2. Budgeting and planning.
Lead the preparation and approval of annual budgets.
Provide input on financial strategies and longtime planning.
3. Financial reporting - -
Present regular financial updates to the board including income statements,
balance sheets and cash flow reports.
Ensure transparency and accuracy in all financial matters.
4. Compliance and Risk management. - -
Oversee compliance with legal, regulatory and donor requirements related to
finance.
Identify and mitigate financial risks to the organization.
5. Funds management
Ensure proper management of funds including donations, grants and
contributions.
Monitors cash flow to meet the organization's operational and program needs.
6. Internal controls
Ensure proper financial policies, procedures and internal control in place.
