Betta World For Bettas is seeking a volunteer social media assistant to help create and brainstorm content to support our mission of improving betta fish welfare.
Responsibilities:
- Create and brainstorm engaging graphics and short-form videos
- Stay updated on current social media trends and suggest ways to incorporate them into our content strategy
- Conduct research as needed to ensure content is accurate and impactful
- Simplify complex fish welfare topics into relatable content that educates and inspires action
Ideal candidate:
- Passionate about betta fish welfare and knowledgeable about industry practices and proper care
- Deep understanding of social media trends
- Creative thinker with a knack for storytelling and audience engagement
- Familiar with Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube features, algorithms, and content strategies

We are a fish welfare organization that challenges harmful products, misleading guidance, and unethical practices in the pet trade. Our efforts focus on raising awareness about the harms of selling bettas in tiny cups, advocating for retailers to adopt more humane practices, and exploring legislative changes to establish stronger protections for fish.
Through education and advocacy, we empower individuals to make informed choices about responsible fishkeeping and take action in their communities. Our work has led to increased awareness, community-driven advocacy efforts, and growing pressure on retailers to reform their practices.
