Cultural Resources and Curatorial Assistant

Description of Duties:

The Cultural Resources and Curatorial Assistant may assist park cultural resources and museum

staff with one or more cultural and natural resource activities involving museum collections,

archaeology, historic structures, and cultural landscapes. These activities include

· Completing daily, quarterly, and annual museum and exhibit housekeeping, including integrated pest M\management.

· Identifying, cataloging, marking, and housing or rehousing museum artifacts.

· Organizing, housing, and describing archival records and collections.

· Assisting with park library operations.

· Conducting library, museum, and archival research for the park or in response to research

requests received from park staff, researchers, and the public.

· Assisting visiting NPS staff, researchers, or contractors with resource management projects

involving museum collections, archaeology, historic structures, cultural landscapes, and various natural resources

· Working on annual museum inventories and other tasks that ensure protection and preservation of cultural and natural resources.

· Developing interpretive content on specific park themes for temporary and permanent museum exhibits, special events, park programs, social media posts, and more.


Main Goals: To help preserve and protect the cultural and natural resources of the park, including library and

research collections.
