Atlanta Angels believes not everyone is called to foster or adopt, but everyone can make a difference in a child's life. One way you can make an impact is through our Dare to Dream program. The Dare to Dream program focuses on one-to-one mentoring for youth (ages 11-22) who are in foster care, at-risk to age out, or have aged-out. Mentors serve as positive role models who meet with their youth to build relationships and empower them to accomplish thier goals. As a mentor, you will have the opportunity to provide youth who are in or have aged out of care with the one-on-one support they need to feel safe, capable and loved. We are seeking a mentor to be matched with a youth on our waitlist. We are specifically looking for volunteers in and around Lithonia for youth #157 The youth we are supporting is a creative and adventurous 13 year old girl who loves dancing, art, drawing, and crafting. She enjoys watching scary movies, riding her scooter, swimming, and learning new languages like Spanish and Korean. She dreams of becoming a flight attendant to travel the world or becoming a cosmetologist as she also loves doing hair and makeup. She’s looking for a fun, talkative mentor who enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and can be a supportive friend and role model to her.
