ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Help us welcome people to Saratoga National Historical Park! Visitor Services Volunteers play a key role in welcoming visitors and helping them understand the events which took place in the park and how to get the most out of their time with us.

As a representative of the National Park Service, volunteers are held to the same standards and rules as NPS staff.

Volunteers at the Visitor Center must wear the approved volunteer shirt, volunteer coat or jacket, and provide their own pants and closed toed shoes.

Schedules are created by the Volunteer Coordinator on a periodic basis throughout the year. If you can’t make a scheduled day, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator as soon as possible.

Visitor Service Volunteers will...

  • make everyone feel welcome!
  • assist the Interpretation staff by providing orientation, information, and informal interpretation to visitors.
  • hand out maps, brochures, Jr. Ranger books, and other information as needed.
  • answer the phone and take messages.
  • operate the Eastern National Store cash register.
  • provide accurate information on park rules and regulations.
  • provide accurate information on the Battles of Saratoga and the American Revolution.
  • will be offered trainings on history, interpretation, and customer service.
