About Us:

Position Summary:
We are seeking caring and compassionate individuals to join our team as Hospice Volunteers, specifically to provide companionship to our patients. As a Companion Volunteer, you will offer emotional support, a listening ear, and a comforting presence to our patients during their final days.
Who Can Volunteer
Hospice volunteers come from all walks of life - students, retirees, professionals, stay at home parents, and veterans - all are welcome.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visit hospice patients regularly, providing companionship and emotional support.
- Engage in conversations, listen to patients' stories, and offer a comforting presence.
- Participate in activities that the patient enjoys, such as reading, playing music, or simply sitting quietly together.
- Assist with light tasks that contribute to the patient's comfort, under the supervision of hospice staff.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy and dignity of each patient.
- Communicate regularly with hospice staff to report on patient interactions and any notable observations.
Qualifications:
- Compassionate, empathetic, and patient demeanor.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Ability to provide non-judgmental, supportive companionship.
- Reliability and commitment to regular volunteer visits.
- Previous experience in a caregiving or volunteer role is a plus, but not required.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Completion of a background check and volunteer training program provided by Care360 Hospice, the expenses of which are covered by our agency.
