Volunteer with 5-Eleven Hoops to Empower siblings, foster understanding, and create a safe space for their unique voices to be heard.

Why: Siblings of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities often face unique emotional challenges. As a Sibling Support Facilitator, you will provide a safe, supportive environment where they can share, connect, and gain the tools they need to thrive in their roles.

Who: 5-Eleven Hoops is unlocking the strengths and full potential of kids with Autism through sports in supportive and inclusive spaces.

What to Expect:

Facilitate support group sessions tailored to siblings of children with ASD and other developmental differences.

Create a compassionate and inclusive environment where siblings can share their feelings, challenges, and achievements.

Lead discussions and activities that help siblings process their emotions, develop coping strategies, and enhance communication skills.

Offer resources and educational tools to help siblings better understand their neurodivergent brothers or sisters.

Guide siblings in building stronger relationships and fostering empathy within their families.

Collaborate with staff and other facilitators to ensure the group's emotional safety and effectiveness.

What's Required:

A background in therapy, counseling, or social work (licensed or in training preferred).

Experience facilitating group discussions or providing emotional support to children and families.

Compassion, patience, and a nonjudgmental attitude toward the unique challenges siblings may face.

Strong communication and active listening skills to engage participants effectively.

Experience working with siblings of neurodivergent children is highly preferred.

The ability to create an empathetic and fun environment where siblings feel safe and valued.
