Volunteer with 5-Eleven Hoops to help empower families, build community, and make a lasting impact in the lives of parents raising neurodivergent children.

Why: Parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and developmental disabilities face unique challenges. As a Parent Support Group Facilitator, you will provide a safe and supportive space where they can share experiences, access resources, and feel empowered.

Who: 5-Eleven Hoops is unlocking the strengths and full potential of kids with Autism through sports in supportive and inclusive spaces.

What to Expect:

Facilitate support group sessions, leading discussions on parenting strategies, self-care, and behavioral techniques for parents of children with ASD.

Foster an empathetic and open environment where parents feel safe to share, ask questions, and connect with others.

Offer emotional support and guidance, sharing resources and coping strategies to help parents navigate their journeys.

Collaborate with other facilitators and staff to maintain consistency and improve the group's effectiveness.

Provide expert advice and educational materials to help parents feel informed and confident.

What's Required:

A background in therapy or counseling (licensed or in training preferred).

Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.

Prior experience facilitating groups or working with families of neurodivergent children is highly desirable.

Compassion, patience, and a nonjudgmental approach.

The ability to provide emotional support and share resources in a professional and sensitive manner.

A passion for creating safe, community-focused spaces.

Meetings typically occur weekly or bi-weekly, depending on group demand.

Sessions are scheduled on evenings or weekends to accommodate parents' schedules.

Minimum commitment of 2-3 hours per session for a 10-week period, plus preparation time as needed.
