Position Description
The ROCKBlue Consultancy( see video) offers a unique opportunity to get involved with our dynamic organization. You will learn invaluable skills, expand your professional contacts in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), and work with a diverse group of people situated around the world, including our Roster specialists. The small nature of our organization offers exposure to all business activities.

This position requires an awareness of ROCKBlue’s market, community, clients, and partners, as well as potential partners and clients. The Business Development Intern, Pursuits, will be responsible for supporting business development efforts by managing Salesforce, tracking business pursuits, and assisting with professional representation and networking.

Authority
The Business Development Intern, Pursuits, works directly under the supervision of the Managing Director (MD).
The intern will have access to ROCKBlue’s confidential archives, marketing materials, Google Drive, and Salesforce CRM software.

Purpose

The Business Development Intern, Pursuits, plays a key role in helping the MD manage Salesforce, track developments in business development pursuits, and facilitate strategic networking and professional communication.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Business Development Intern, Pursuits, will:

●Support the MD in managing Salesforce CRM, ensuring accurate tracking of business development activities.

●Monitor and track developments in key business development pursuits, identifying opportunities for engagement.

●Suggest task assignments to ROCKBlue executive staff to advance business development initiatives.

●Engage in professional representation of ROCKBlue, including communication with key stakeholders and, when necessary, in-person meetings with important business professionals.

●Assist in the preparation of business development materials, including presentations and reports.

●Conduct industry and market research to support strategic decision-making.

●Provide updates and insights on business development activities to the MD.

●Utilize interpersonal networking skills to foster relationships with potential partners, clients, and donors.

Requirements and Qualifications

●Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Communications, Development Studies, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

●Strong organizational and tracking skills, with experience in CRM software (Salesforce preferred).

●Excellent oral presentation and communication skills.

●Strong ability to engage with business professionals and represent ROCKBlue professionally.

●Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

●Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and research tools.

●Interest in business development, strategic planning, and networking.

Time Commitment

●Ability to dedicate 4-6 hours per week virtually.

Remuneration

●This is currently a volunteer position with the goal of converting to a paid role depending on the success of new business generated.
