Our Grassroots Non-Profit Adult Literacy Organization Fill My Cup! is searching for several skilled and life-long educators that want to teach others to become functional literate to support overcoming barriers of low-literacy. The delivery of proper instructional and promoting a welcoming learning environment that provides need skills to support upward economic mobiility, civic engagement and family educatinal attainment.

An Adult Basic Education or Literacy teacher / instructor, works with adult learners to improve literacy and strengthen basic skills in reading an writing, to include digital literacy integrated in instruction. Assesses students' educational levels, skills and goals, and differentiates instruction as needed for adults at different levels in one class. May focus on basic skills as needed for a particular occupation, or assist students with developing study skills or job search reading skills.

Description

Fill My Cup! Adult Literacy and Adult Basic Education Services serves young adults, adults and parents connected to our Charlotte - Mecklenburg Community, who need to learn to read, improve their reading, and obtain pre-GED skills needed to become functionally literate. The key adult literacy and life-skill services we provide support and foster key multi-generational family and community engagement skills. Our service delivery model is provided using small group and one-to-one virtual tutoring; using adult learner digital curriculum that provides a blended approach to learning in our adult literacy program to our Learners and Tutors. We provide our volunteer tutors with comprehensive training and support.
