Description

Sarasota Prostate Initiative (SPI) is the outgrowth of a program started at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in 1989 called Man to Man. This was created as a support group for men to better understand the complexities and solutions for life altering prostate health issues. Formed by doctors and patients, the group has survived for nearly 40 years by educating patients with the help of presenting doctors at monthly meetings to discuss solutions to this odyssey. SPI operates free PSA Screening programs, and educational talks to mens groups throughout the Southwest Florida area to try to educate men and their partners about this disease which is equal in number to Breast Cancer and its effect upon women.
