We are recruiting a motivated individual or couple who can work independently in remote front-country locations with regular but limited oversight from a USFS Crew Leader. Position duties include fee collection, water sample collection, checking camping and parking passes, providing visitor information on safety and recreation opportunities, janitorial services for vault toilets, fire-ring cleanout, litter pickup, vegetation management, using a radio to connect with other employees and dispatch, handling unusual situations with diplomacy and tact, and maintaining open lines of communication with supervisors, partners, and fellow crew members.
This opportunity is available from Mid-June to Mid-September. A minimum of a 6-week commitment within this timeframe is required. Preference will be given to longer-term applicants. Applicants look for full- or part-time are accepted.
Housing/RV parking is available at no cost, as well as a shared USFS vehicle and training/certification opportunities. Equipment and uniforms will be provided.
