When: June through end of August 2025
- 4-hour shifts in the morning and afternoon are available Monday through Friday, with higher priority for Mondays and Tuesdays
Where: MNRR Headquarters Visitor Contact Station at 508 East 2nd Street, Yankton, SD 57078
What: Visitor Contact Station Volunteers will greet and orient visitors who come into the HQ Visitor Contact Station. During different interactions, they may answer questions, give recommendations on things to do, provide informal interpretation on the park's resources and history, set up the park film, and facilitate sales of new MNRR merchandise. While not interacting with visitors, volunteers will have ample time to read, conduct research, and help out with clerical duties if interested.
Why volunteer:
- Spend time meeting and interacting with new people
- Serve as an ambassador for the Missouri River and help visitors have an enjoyable and memorable experience at the park
- Learn more about the Missouri National Recreational River
- Gain valuable experience working in visitor services, which can be a great addition to a resume
