About Wevise
Wevise is a nonprofit founded in 2022. Our mission is to make careers in the technology industry more attainable and build a more diverse and inclusive tech community through equitable access to mentorship, education, and career opportunities. We’re a team of committed volunteers from a diverse set of backgrounds who are committed to leveling the playing field in tech (and beyond).
Our first program, which launched in June 2023, is a mentorship platform for those looking for personal or professional guidance in the technology industry, with a focus on those from disadvantaged communities or with additional barriers. Our second, launching in 2025, is a city-focused partnership initiative supporting diverse adults in Chicago to find and succeed in their first tech position.
The Role
As the Program Director, you will be leading programs and architecting the futures of diverse individuals in technology. You will own the process for developing innovative programs like our on-demand mentorship platform, directly impacting individuals' lives and careers. This is where strategy meets heart and where your leadership can ignite progressive growth. While we currently have a platform-focused team, you’ll be designing and building the rest of the Program team.
Responsibilities
Develop and Manage Programs: Craft and lead all aspects of programs tailored to diverse needs, setting the stage for impactful mentorship and education. Ensure programs meet the organizational goals.
Empower and Lead a Team: Design, build, onboard, and lead the programs team with vision and empathy, ensuring effective execution and delivery of program objectives, especially as the platform evolves from the MVP stage to the beta product and beyond.
Steer Financial Health: Manage resources wisely, aligning budgets with ambitious goals while ensuring sustainability.
Measure Success: Implement data- (and people-)driven evaluation mechanisms to assess program effectiveness and make informed decisions.
Build Partnerships: Cultivate meaningful connections with partners, amplifying our mission and growing our reach.
Collaboration: Work closely with other organizational leaders to ensure alignment and support, ensuring our offerings effectively meet the needs of our community

Mission Statement
Our mission is to make careers in the technology industry more attainable through equitable access to mentorship, education, and career opportunities.
Description
Wevise is on a mission to level the playing field in tech. Through direct programming and partnerships with nonprofits supporting underserved and disadvantaged people to enter and advance in the technology industry, we provide access to mentors, training and educational opportunities, and careers.
Our goals:
*Support underserved and disadvantaged people to enter and thrive in the technology industry
*Partner with organizations who need mentorship and career placement programs to complement their main programming, helping them to better serve their beneficiaries
*Support companies in finding the right, often diverse, candidates
Our main service is a free, on-demand mentorship platform that allows people to request mentorship based on specific needs, interests, background, and experience. Mentors and mentees can specify their interest in short, medium, and long-term mentorship.
Mentors choose one or more mentees that resonate with them from a curated list of five mentorship requests. Although the platform is open and free to all, we are focused on supporting underserved and disadvantaged people. Mentors and mentees are matched with people who have overcome similar barriers, such as LGBTQIA+, veteran, first-generation student, person of color, person with a disability, single parent, etc. We also provide custom tags for nonprofit partners so that mentors can mark a preference for mentoring someone from one of those programs.
