Help Build a Retaining Wall at Buddhist Retreat Centre

Currently, we are looking for volunteers to help us for two weeks, from March 30th through April 12th.

The project we'll be working on is building a retaining wall at the back of our meditation cabins. This is the first step in upgrading this key area. Future work will include indoor remodelling and and rebuilding the attached laundry area.

Volunteers should be in good health, fit and strong - the lifting of heavy materials, such as gravel and stone will be required, as will mixing and using cement.Experience with building, using cement/concrete is a bonus, but not a must.

We offer our volunteers three vegetarian/vegan meals a day and accommodation at the centre. You will be staying in shared cabins, with shared showers and hot water. Fans/heaters provided as needed.

You will be welcome to attend the daily morning vajrayana meditation practices with the community, as well as the Saturday morning "Meditation for All" class. and those with a genuine interest may receive special meditation explanations.

Volunteers are free to explore the land, home to diverse wildlife and native plants, as well as - in the right season - an astonishing array of fungi.

There are mediation spots around the land, with stunning views across the hills and valleys.

You can circumambulate the stupa, taking in a full circle of majestic scenery as you walk, and get to know the resident community.

Please note that volunteers are responsible for getting to the centre themselves. We do not issue invitation letters or offer any similar documents.
