Charlotte Maxwell Clinic is looking for compassionate interpreters to join our wonderful community.

Volunteer with Charlotte Maxwell Clinic, a free women's clinic, to provide interpretation and translation services to low-income monolingual women with cancer. Interpreters also provide logistical clinical support to our clients. Connect with over 100 volunteers who provide services like acupuncture, acupressure, lymph drainage, guided imagery, herbalism, guided imagery, reiki, homeopathy, nutrition and exercising counseling at our clinic. Charlotte Maxwell Clinic has over 30 years of experience providing integrative medical treatments. We offer volunteer orientation, training, and other volunteer educational opportunities. Charlotte Maxwell Clinic is one of the only places in the Bay Area where women undergoing the terrible rigors of cancer and poverty will be touched with kindness, compassion and skill.

Women of color and cancer survivors are especially welcome. Spanish, Mandarin, and other languages needed. Minimum volunteer commitment is one shift per month for one year.

Mission Statement

Charlotte Maxwell Clinic is an integrative oncology clinic in Oakland, offering free medical treatment to low-income women with cancer. Therapies include acupuncture, herbs, massage, guided imagery, homeopathy, nutrition counseling and more. These therapies help our clients cope with cancer symptoms and with the side effects of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. Charlotte Maxwell Clinic also provides safety-net social services to address the array of practical, financial and social challenges that arise while women are fighting cancer.

Description

We rely on over 200 volunteers to serve over 400 clients annually. We welcome volunteers, any information you can share about our clinic, and donations!
