Join Foepagiwo's Binti Natokomeza Ukatili project and be part of the movement to end gender-based violence(GBV)in Tanzania.We work with school and communities to educate, advocate,and support girls and women in vulnerable situations.

Gender-based violence (GBV) is a widespread issue affecting the lives of many girls and women in Tanzania.Through our Binti Natokomeza Ukatili project,we educate student and communities about GBV,abuse,and advocate for safer spaces in schools and beyond.

As volunteer,you will:

-Facilitate awareness sessions on GBV in school and communities.

-Support survivors with counseling and referrals.

-Advocate for policies that protect girls and women

-Help develop educational materials and training workshops.

Description

The Foundation for Equal Participation of Girls and Women (FOEPAGIWO) is a legally registered NGO in Tanzania (Reg. No. 00NGO\R\0311), operating in Kilimanjaro since 2019. We were founded to combat the high levels of illiteracy, unemployment, and social injustice faced by girls and women in the region.

Our Projects

  1. Binti Darasani

    • Objective: Support girls in Moshi with education essentials, enabling them to attend primary and secondary school.
    • Beneficiaries: Girls from single-parent families, orphans, and low-income households, identified with local authorities.
    • Impact: Tackles gender disparity in education, helping girls achieve financial stability and break the poverty cycle.
    • Achievements: Sponsored 20 girls, providing fees, uniforms, stationery, and monthly toiletries.
  2. Binti na Hedhi Salama

    • Objective: Educate girls on menstrual hygiene, increase access to sanitary wear, and reduce menstruation stigma.
    • Scope: Operating in 6 public schools in Moshi, focusing on class 6 girls.
    • Achievements: Reached over 20 schools, donated 1,000+ pads, and provided 500 reusable sanitary towels.
