Visitor Services and Interpretation (RV Resident)

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Visitor Services and Interpretation volunteers at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site help support daily operations by performing reception services, along with formal and informal interpretive services. Services could be performed at all of the park’s visitor facilities including the reconstructed Fort Vancouver, Pearson Air Museum, Visitor Center in Vancouver, WA, as well as the McLoughlin House unit in Oregon City, OR. This specific volunteer position will primarily be based and work at the Vancouver, WA facilities as the RV location is near the Visitor Center.


Interpretive volunteers are the public face of the park that help to greet and orient visitors. They also present captivating history programming and cultural demonstrations. Interpretive volunteers --whether uniformed or costumed-- help bring the park to life! Volunteers serving under this position description also assist with the planning and implementation of special events. Providing this volunteer service will help support the mission of the National Park Service and Fort Vancouver National Historic Site.
