2025 Musical Life Competition and Composers in Residence

ORGANIZATION: MUSICAL LIFE FOUNDATION INC

The Musical Life Foundation is offering a great opportunity for volunteers to get involved with their upcoming events!

Working these events offer the chance to gain behind-the-scenes experience and contribute to the success of this prestigious competition and support the musical arts. Our volunteers can also receive community service hour letters for working with this official 501(c)(3) organization, and can also be used for credit at participating high schools or universities.

If you're interested in volunteering, it's a fantastic way to support young musicians while gaining valuable experience.

Here are the volunteer opportunities available:

  1. March 15th & 16th - Auditions at PianoPiano Rehearsal Studios:

    • Volunteer Role: Help direct participants and manage the flow of the auditions.
    • Time: 10 am - 5 pm (with a 1-hour lunch break at 1 pm).
    • Location: PianoPiano Rehearsal Studios.
  2. May 15th - Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall:

    • Volunteer Role: Assist backstage during the concert.
    • Time: 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm (first shift) and 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm (second shift).
    • Location: Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.
  3. May 31st - Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Center:

    • Volunteer Role: Help backstage during the concert.
    • Time: 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm.
    • Location: Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Center.

4. June 7th - Victor Borge Hall:

    • Volunteer Role: Help backstage during the concert.
    • Time: 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
    • Location: Scandanivania House

We strive to cultivate an ongoing love and appreciation for classical and contemporary music by captivating concert audiences with exciting performances and ideas, and bridging the gap between musicians and concert audiences. Musical Life’s work is inspired by using music as a vehicle for artistic expression, communication and togetherness and supporting young musicians.

Description

An International Competition for piano and strings (solo and ensemble) for serious aspiring musicians ages 18 and under. Winners may receive significant media exposure and the opportunity to perform at world famous concert halls in New York City. First Place Winners go on to performances at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and Second Place winners get the chance to perform at Merkin Concert Hall at the Kaufman Center. Third Place Winners receive recognition through our website and a pdf certificate however are not guaranteed a winners’ performance. All Competition applicants will have the opportunity to audition LIVE in front of our distinguished jury and receive the jury’s written comments and input.
