Mission NOVA provides a comprehensive range of services tailored to the specific needs of the community, including food, clothing, addiction recovery support, computer training, educational programs, health clinics, job training/placement, legal aid, ESL classes, life skills, parenting classes, after school programs (coming soon), and more. As always, Bible study, prayer, and discipleship is woven into everything we do, and our goal is to offer both English and Spanish.

We are loking for volunteers to p rovide assistance with bringing food deliveries into facility, prepare bags, and distribute to guests. Volunteers must be comfortable with lifting and moving heavy boxes upstairs.Ages 18 and over preferred. Please do not bring personal items. (There is no locker.) The dress code is casual, but appropriate.

Food Distribution takes place every Tuesday from 9:30 am-12:00pm and every Friday from 12:00pm - 3:00 pm.

Central Union Mission is a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and the oldest private social service agency in Washington, DC. In addition to its emergency shelter, which provides over 62,000 bed-nights each year, the Mission operates a holistic, Christ-centered transformation and workforce development program for men, provides benefits for veterans, helps people overcome addictions, operates a food and clothing distribution center, which provides food for over 4,000 each month, runs a camp for underprivileged children, and offers a ministry to families and senior citizens.
